Hi! We’re so glad you’re here!

FAQs

Is Echuca Moama open for visitors?

Yes. Most of the restaurants, cafés, pubs and clubs have reopened. There is plenty of motel and limited resort accommodation available (currently the holiday parks are closed, as are a few resorts). Tourist attractions are reopening, with the exception of activities on the Murray River, such as paddlesteamer cruises, boating, fishing, and camping.

Are the paddlesteamers cruising?

No, currently paddlesteamer cruises are suspended, while the Murray River is closed to all vessels and river activities.

Are the roads open between Melbourne and Echuca?

Yes. If traveling to Moama from outside of Echuca (eg, Melbourne, Bendigo) please use our old Echuca Moama bridge (Meninya Street Bridge). Once in town you can travel between Echuca and Moama via either the new bridge (Cobb Highway) or the old bridge (Meninya Street Bridge).

Can we free/bush camp?

No, at the moment all our bush camping is closed both sides of the river.

Rotary Park is open for camping of self-contained caravans and RVs (must have your own toilet on board). The cost is $10p/n for non-powered camping.  Address: Rose St, Echuca.

Is Echuca Moama still flooded?

Areas of Echuca Moama remain flooded. These areas are along our three rivers, in low lying areas, bush and farming areas. We are happy to report that our town centres and Historic Port Precinct remain dry and accessible for visitors and locals to enjoy.

Our accommodation booking has been cancelled, where can I stay?

With our larger caravan parks and several resorts impacted by the flood water, our visitor services team is ready to help you find suitable alternative accommodation, perfect for your getaway.

Contact the Echuca Moama Visitor Information Centre on 1800 804 446.

Which businesses are still closed?

While over 80% of our tourism businesses are still open, there are a few that have been unable to resume operating yet. The map below shows where and which businesses they are and will be updated regularly as they are able to reopen.
